Ron Hefner began his career in 2010, at a time most were not interested in entering the real estate profession. His entry into the industry was an unusual one. He helped diffuse a tense situation at a local restaurant which prompted a conversation with a bystander, who offered him a job if he would acquire his real estate license. Nine years later, the two are still close friends.
Today, Ron, who earned a degree in marketing at the University of Wisconsin, is the "Buyer's Agent of the Year" at the brokerage two consecutive years, and earned the "Excellence Award" in 2018 for a sales volume greater than $15 million.
Since becoming a realtor, Ron has helped more than 300 clients buy or sell a home on the Emerald Coast. He credits his success to the skills he has learned throughout his upbringing and career, including treating every single person he meets equally and with respect, always doing the right thing and working harder than his competition. He truly believes that the right agent should be able to shoulder both the large and small details of the transaction, freeing the client to attend to other matters, while leading them to a seamless, successful closing. His local expertise, combined with the global reach of the Sotheby's International Realty brand and the collaboration of its agents, help him best serve his customers across the street or around the world.
Ron works primarily in the luxury communities along the 30A corridor, as well as Destin and Panama City Beach, and with buyers and sellers from all walks of life including first-time homebuyers, investors looking for the best ROI and those making their beach home dream a reality. He makes a point of being part of these communities by joining local groups, attending events, dining out and connecting with the people he meets.
In his free time, Ron enjoys the beach and all it has to offer with his wife, Bailey, their son, Boone, and their Border Collie. He enjoys paddle boarding, biking, playing soccer and fishing. He also loves to travel. For their honeymoon, Ron and his wife opted for an unforgettable experience backpacking through Central and South America for six months, where they visited 10 countries, more than 30 cities and some of the most breathtaking and extraordinary places in the world.
He is inspired by the quote from Cajun chef John Folse: "Risk is the tariff paid to leave the shores of predictable misery." He loves exploring, spontaneity and looking for new opportunities in business and in life.
