For Richard Jabbour, real estate has never really been about property. It has always been about people, timing, and the deeply personal question of how — and where — we choose to live.

His path to the Emerald Coast was not conventional. Years ago, while caring for his late wife during an unimaginably difficult chapter of life, Richard found himself searching for a place that carried the same calm and beauty they had loved during their many trips to the Caribbean. What he discovered along these shores was something far more lasting than white sand and blue water. He found a place to begin again.

Before real estate, Richard spent decades in private equity and international business, specializing in complex carve-outs and Brazilian tax law. Driven, analytical, and remarkably accomplished, he rose quickly in his career, becoming one of the youngest senior vice presidents at his firm. But the lessons that shaped him most had little to do with titles. Under the mentorship of a trusted business leader early in his career, Richard learned the value of patience, integrity, and staying true to himself in every room he entered — principles that continue to define both his life and his work today.

After stepping away from corporate life and eventually “retiring,” real estate emerged unexpectedly through the experience of building a home alongside his wife, Gayle. What began as a business venture evolved into something much more meaningful: an opportunity to help others build lives here, not simply buy houses.

That distinction matters deeply to Richard. Conversations with clients rarely stay confined to square footage or investment potential. More often, they drift toward family, purpose, memories, and the realization that life moves faster than we expect. He’s known for reminding clients that “you cannot build sandcastles on the beach with your grandbabies on a pile of bitcoin” — a philosophy that captures both his perspective and his priorities.

Over the years, many of those clients have become lifelong friends. Richard speaks most fondly not about transactions, but about watching families grow up together along the coast — children becoming parents, annual traditions becoming generational ones, and neighbors becoming part of each other’s lives.

Outside of real estate, Richard enjoys designing and building homes, playing classical guitar, and spending time with the people who anchor his world: his wife Gayle, his son Turner, and friendships that have spanned more than five decades.

Ask Richard what he hopes people remember about working with him, and his answer is characteristically simple: not the work itself, but the experience of being together after the work is done. In many ways, that sentiment says everything.

Because to Richard, home is the kind of place that quietly becomes impossible to leave.
