2026 Fall Events Guide: Destin, 30A and Panama City Beach

2026 Fall Events Guide: Destin, 30A and Panama City Beach

From seafood festivals and beachfront concerts to wine weekends, dachshund races and holiday markets, fall brings a full calendar to the coast.

Fall on the Emerald Coast arrives a little differently. The water is still warm, the beaches are still inviting and flip-flops remain perfectly acceptable, but the pace begins to change. September, October and November bring cooler evenings, smaller crowds and one of the busiest stretches of the year for festivals, food and wine events, live music and longtime local traditions.

From Destin Harbor to Panama City Beach, the 2026 calendar offers plenty of reasons to get outside.

Destin

Destin Seafood Festival | Sept. 25–27

One of Destin’s signature traditions returns to the harbor for three days of seafood, music and waterfront festivities. The 48th Annual Destin Seafood Festival stretches along the Destin Harbor Boardwalk with more than 75 vendors, multiple stages of live entertainment and a Kids Zone featuring activities such as oyster shell painting, face painting and games.

General admission is free throughout the weekend, while a separate ticketed VIP experience Saturday and Sunday offers food samples from local chefs and restaurants, its own music stage and other extras. The festival also serves as the unofficial kickoff to another Destin institution: the monthlong Destin Fishing Rodeo.

Destin Fishing Rodeo | Oct. 1–31

October in Destin means fishing season in a very big way. The 78th Annual Destin Fishing Rodeo runs the entire month, with anglers competing across dozens of species and divisions.

You don’t have to fish to be part of the tradition. Daily weigh-ins behind AJ’s Seafood & Oyster Bar are free and open to spectators from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and some of the most entertaining moments happen when boats return to the docks with their catches. The month also includes special events such as the Destin 5K Rodeo Run on Oct. 4.

Miramar Beach + Sandestin

Bubbly Baytowne | Sept. 17 + Oct. 15

A fall evening at Baytowne Wharf comes with a little extra sparkle during Bubbly Baytowne. Guests 21 and older can check in at the events plaza for a complimentary glass and then make their way among participating merchants for champagne samples and shopping.

The free event runs from 5–7 p.m. on two Thursdays this fall, making it an easy addition to dinner or an evening at the Village.

Hometown Heroes Touch-A-Truck | Sept. 19

Families can get an up-close look at the vehicles used by local first responders and military personnel when Hometown Heroes Touch-A-Truck comes to Silver Sands Premium Outlets.

The free event runs from 10 a.m.–1 p.m. and includes interactive vehicles, face painting, music and games, giving younger visitors a chance to climb, explore and meet some of the people who serve the community.

Moon Crush: Odie’s Beach Vacation | Oct. 1–3

Old Dominion brings its beach vacation back to Miramar Beach with three nights of live music at Seascape Resort. Moon Crush: Odie’s Beach Vacation combines headline performances with the relaxed format that has become the calling card of the Moon Crush concert weekends.

Beyond the music, the weekend includes activities such as beach yoga, pickleball, themed gatherings and local vendors.

Bands on the BLVD | Thursdays, Oct. 1–Nov. 5

Grand Boulevard’s fall calendar includes an easy reason to linger outdoors on Thursday evenings. Bands on the BLVD brings rotating local and regional performers to Grand Park from 6–8 p.m.

The concerts are free and family-friendly, and guests can bring a blanket or lawn chair, pick up dinner nearby and settle in for an evening of live music.

Rockin’ in Paradise | Oct. 8–10

Classic rock takes over Seascape Resort when Styx returns for Rockin’ in Paradise. The three-day beachfront music weekend includes two performances by Styx along with a lineup of other classic rock artists, food vendors and hospitality experiences.

For fans who prefer guitars to wine glasses, it is one of the fall calendar’s biggest destination music weekends.

Bloody Mary Festival | Oct. 10

The Bloody Mary gets the full festival treatment at The Market Shops during the 11th Annual Bloody Mary Festival.

Local restaurants and bars put their own spin on the brunch staple while guests sample their way through the competition. The ticketed event also includes food, live music, craft beer, prosecco, shopping and other entertainment, with proceeds benefiting Habitat for Humanity – Walton County.

Baytowne Wharf Beer Festival | Oct. 16–17

More than 150 domestic and international craft beers are expected at the 18th Annual Baytowne Wharf Beer Festival, one of the Village’s biggest fall weekends.

Friday evening features Baytowne’s Backyard Bash, followed Saturday by the Grand Craft Beer Tasting. The ticketed festival lets guests sample a wide range of lagers and ales while enjoying live music and the Village atmosphere.

Shinedown’s Lunatic Ball Beach Weekend | Oct. 23–25

Miramar Beach turns up the volume again later in October when Shinedown’s Lunatic Ball Beach Weekend arrives at Seascape.

The three-night lineup includes Shinedown, Flyleaf with Lacey Sturm, Bush, Living Colour, Hanson, From Ashes to New and more, adding another major beachfront music weekend to an unusually packed fall concert season.

30A BBQ Festival | Nov. 6

Come hungry. The 30A BBQ Festival returns to Grand Boulevard with local restaurants and pitmasters competing for bragging rights — and the title of 30A’s Best BBQ.

The evening includes all-you-can-eat barbecue, live music, beverages, a silent auction, raffle and photo booth. Proceeds benefit The Sonder Project and its work in communities locally and around the world.

Baytowne Tribute Weekend | Nov. 6–7

Baytowne Wharf trades the tasting glass for a lawn chair during Tribute Weekend, with two nights of free outdoor concerts from 7–9 p.m.

Friday brings the music of Aerosmith with Pandora’s Box, while Saturday’s The 77 Experience revisits the music and pop culture of 1977. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs and claim a spot on the events plaza lawn.

Eggs on the Beach | Nov. 7

Some serious cooking happens inside those familiar green grills during the 12th Annual Eggs on the Beach at Seascape Towne Centre.

More than 20 cook teams will prepare dishes on Big Green Eggs for guests to sample, with live music and beverages rounding out the event. Proceeds benefit Food for Thought and Fisher House of the Emerald Coast.

Sparkling Wine & Holiday Lights | Nov. 21

Fall begins giving way to the holidays at Baytowne Wharf with Sparkling Wine & Holiday Lights.

Guests can stroll through the decorated Village while sampling more than 30 champagnes and sparkling wines paired with bites from participating restaurants. The evening culminates with the season’s first tree lighting and the Nights of Lights show.

Santa Rosa Beach + 30A

Operation Outdoor Freedom Trailfest | Sept. 12

Fall running season begins on the trails with the Operation Outdoor Freedom Trailfest at Point Washington State Forest.

The event includes 5K, 10K and 10-mile distances and welcomes runners of varying experience levels. Registration supports Operation Outdoor Freedom, which provides outdoor recreational opportunities for Florida veterans.

Friday Night Comedy at Idyll Hounds | Sept. 18

For a different kind of Friday night, Idyll Hounds Brewing Company hosts a stand-up comedy show featuring Jeff Batts at 8 p.m.

The ticketed performance adds something a little unexpected to a fall calendar dominated by festivals and outdoor concerts.

Cars of 30A at Alys Beach | Oct. 2–3

Automotive design meets Alys Beach architecture during the second annual Cars of 30A weekend.

The event begins Friday with Torque to Table, a 21-and-older evening pairing fine automobiles with wine and cocktails, followed by Saturday programming centered around an exclusive collection of cars.

Harvest Wine & Food Festival | Oct. 15–18

One of 30A’s premier culinary weekends celebrates its 10th anniversary in WaterColor this fall. Harvest Wine & Food Festival unfolds over four days with intimate wine dinners, a Grand Tasting, Harvest After Dark and a Jazz Cocktail Brunch.

The weekend brings together winemakers, distillers, chefs and food lovers while supporting programs benefiting children across Northwest Florida. For visitors who build fall trips around what is on the plate and in the glass, Harvest remains one of the season’s marquee events.

Halloweener Derby + Dog Costume Contest | Oct. 24

Few fall traditions are more unmistakably Seaside than a pack of dachshunds racing through town in October.

The annual Halloweener Derby & Dog Costume Contest returns to Central Square from 9 a.m.–1 p.m., beginning with costumed pups before the dachshunds take center stage for the races. It is quirky, competitive, family-friendly and exactly as entertaining as it sounds.

Mountainfilm on Tour | Nov. 6-7

WaterColor’s Marina Park Amphitheater becomes an outdoor cinema for two nights when Mountainfilm on Tour returns for its 26th year.

The free event presents documentary short films selected from the Mountainfilm Festival in Telluride, with stories centered on adventure, environmental stewardship and the human spirit. Screenings begin at 7 p.m. both evenings.

Holiday Makers Market | Nov. 13–15

Alys Beach gets an early start on the holiday season with its Holiday Makers Market, bringing artisans and makers together for a weekend of shopping and seasonal activities.

Expect handcrafted goods, live music, creative activities and opportunities for Santa photos, all against one of 30A’s most distinctive architectural backdrops. The event is free and family-friendly.

30A 10K Thanksgiving Day Races | Nov. 26

Thanksgiving morning on 30A starts at the finish line for hundreds of runners during the 30A 10K Thanksgiving Day Races in Rosemary Beach.

Participants can choose from the 10K, 5K or one-mile family fun run, making the event accessible for serious runners as well as families looking to earn a little extra room for Thanksgiving dinner. Registration is required.

Panama City Beach

Fall Festival + Farmers Market | Sept. 26

Panama City Beach begins its fall festival season at Aaron Bessant Park with a Fall Festival & Farmers Market on Sept. 26.

The event is part of a packed autumn schedule at the park that continues with pirate invasions, Oktoberfest, IRONMAN Florida and holiday festivities later in the season.

Pirates of the High Seas & Renaissance Fest | Oct. 9–11

Pirates take over Pier Park during one of Panama City Beach’s most theatrical annual traditions.

The Pirates of the High Seas & Renaissance Fest combines pirate lore with parades, treasure hunts, live entertainment, Renaissance-themed vendors and activities. Saturday features the Krewe of Dominique Youx Main Parade followed by fireworks, while pirate breakfasts and family activities stretch across the weekend.

Panama City Beach Oktoberfest | Oct. 16–18

For three days in October, Aaron Bessant Park borrows a little inspiration from Munich.

The Panama City Beach Oktoberfest features a massive German-style tent, two outdoor beer gardens, traditional food, German and local craft beer, live entertainment and activities for children and families. Brats, meterwurst, giant pretzels and plenty of lederhosen make this one of PCB’s most recognizable fall celebrations.

Thunder Beach Autumn Rally | Oct. 21–25

Motorcycles return to Panama City Beach for the fall edition of Thunder Beach, bringing riders from around the country to the coast for five days of events, vendors, entertainment and rides.

The rally has become a fixture on PCB’s spring and fall calendars, with activity spread across multiple venues throughout the destination.

IRONMAN Florida | Nov. 4–8

Fall also brings one of the coast’s biggest endurance events to Panama City Beach. IRONMAN Florida returns in November, drawing athletes and spectators for a weekend built around the full-distance triathlon.

Even for those who are not competing, race weekend brings a distinctive energy to the beach as athletes tackle the swim, bike and run portions of one of the sport’s longstanding Florida events.

Emerald Coast Cruizin’ | Nov. 12–15

Classic cars take over Aaron Bessant Park during the fall edition of Emerald Coast Cruizin’.

The multi-day automotive gathering brings together hot rods, classics, custom builds and car enthusiasts, offering a decidedly different way to spend a November weekend at the beach.

Beach Home for the Holidays | Nov. 27–28

The fall calendar closes with the coast officially shifting into holiday mode.

Beach Home for the Holidays returns to Aaron Bessant Park Thanksgiving weekend, giving families a chance to trade autumn festivals for Christmas lights and seasonal celebrations — while still keeping the beach just a few steps away.

The Coast’s Second Season

Summer may get most of the attention, but fall has quietly become one of the best times to experience the Emerald Coast. The calendar stays full while the rhythm becomes a little easier: seafood on the harbor, concerts under the stars, wine dinners on 30A, dogs in Halloween costumes and cool November mornings made for a race, market or festival.

And unlike fall in most places, there is a good chance you can do all of it without packing away the sandals.

5 Fall Weekends Worth Planning Around

With festivals filling the calendar from September through Thanksgiving, the hardest part may be deciding when to go. These five weekends offer especially good reasons to make plans.

Sept. 25–27 | Destin Seafood Festival
Start fall on the harbor, where Destin’s fishing heritage takes center stage with fresh seafood, live music and waterfront festivities. The Destin Seafood Festival also arrives just before the Oct. 1 opening of the monthlong Destin Fishing Rodeo, making late September an especially fitting time to rediscover the World’s Luckiest Fishing Village.

Oct. 15–18 | Harvest Wine & Food Festival
For food and wine, this is the weekend to circle. WaterColor hosts four days of dinners, tastings and culinary experiences during the 10th anniversary of Harvest Wine & Food Festival. Add the Baytowne Wharf Beer Festival Oct. 16–17, and there is plenty happening beyond 30A, too.

Oct. 23–25 | Halloween Meets Live Music
This weekend offers two very different ways to have fun. Seaside’s Halloweener Derby & Dog Costume Contest brings costumed pups and dachshund races to Central Square Oct. 24, while Shinedown’s Lunatic Ball Beach Weekend delivers three nights of live music in Miramar Beach.

Nov. 6–8 | A Little Bit of Everything
Come hungry, bring a lawn chair and leave some room in the schedule. The weekend includes the 30A BBQ Festival, Baytowne Tribute Weekend, Eggs on the Beach and two nights of Mountainfilm on Tour in WaterColor. It may be the most varied weekend of the entire fall calendar.

Nov. 26–28 | Thanksgiving at the Beach
Trade the usual Black Friday routine for a coastal Thanksgiving weekend. Start Thanksgiving morning with the 30A 10K races in Rosemary Beach, then head east for Panama City Beach’s Beach Home for the Holidays Nov. 27–28. It is an easy transition from fall at the beach to the beginning of the holiday season.
