We have teamed up again this year with Food For Thought Outreach Inc., whose mission remains to eliminate hunger in Destin, along 30A and in Panama City Beach.
The non-profit estimates at least 3,300 students in our local communities will rely on its “backpack” program weekly, providing food for children who may not know where their next meal is coming from. While many depend on free or reduced school meals, holiday breaks, weekends and even school closures and unemployment related to COVID-19 can mean a lack of access to nutritious choices — or to meals altogether.

Now through August 22, you can contribute without even having to leave home. Instead of collecting food items this year, Food For Thought has organized a virtual fundraiser where teams can compete to raise money toward a goal of $150,000. If achieved, it will provide roughly 300,000 food items and allow them to continue to provide food to families and students.
