If there’s one thing that 2020 has taught us, it’s that you can work from anywhere. Yes, even the beach. While most people visit our area to relax and unwind, an ever-growing percentage of people have found that they can sneak in a few hours of sun and sand and still mark off the work to-do list along the way. If we can thank a global pandemic and quarantine for anything, it’s the ability to work and play where you love to be.
The idea of working from home inspired us to peruse our inventory and see what’s out there in home offices. One of these may suit your tastes or may offer up some inspiration for home renovation projects of your own.
72 E. Kingston Road | Rosemary Beach
This office space is perfect for the entire family, with room for kids to tackle virtual learning or homework and space for the adults to pay bills or get down to business. We like the storage drawers for each seat and the windows that add light and connect a workspace to the rest of the house.
Being short on space doesn’t mean you can’t create a workable home office. We like the simplicity of this one in a hall setting, with enough cabinets and built-ins for office supplies and books. Add a fun chair and you’ll be able to grab a few moments of quiet time whenever necessary.
205 W Village Beach Road | Four Mile Village
Rooms that tell a story are our favorite. This one, stuffed with books from floor to ceiling, features a unique desk fit for an artist … or a lover of the arts, anyway. In this space, you’ll never be more than an arm’s length away from your favorite reads.
This is certainly a regal spot in a luxurious home in the heart of Destin, perfect for knocking out a big work project. Built-ins behind the desk add convenience while a view looking out the large window creates a serene space.
46 N Barrett Square Unit 202 | Rosemary Beach
What could be better than a home office enveloped in sweet serenity? These barn doors slide shut to offer maximum privacy and quietness or can be left open to keep you a part of the action.
20 N. Spanish Town Lane | Rosemary Beach
We’ll leave it up to you whether you can get any work done with guests in the room, but this is a great space to potentially collaborate with others or simply visit while checking your inbox.
3225 Bay Estates Drive | Burnt Pine
Classic Burnt Pine styling graces this office, which is complete with warm woods and wall-sized windows. Natural light pours into the space, providing a gentle reminder of why working along the Emerald Coast is truly a treat.
3277 Burnt Pine Circle | Burnt Pine
We love this cozy office space accessible via a glass-paned door. Get down to business in built-ins tucked into the wall or grab your laptop and work more casually from the sofa.
442 Nicole Forest | The Estuary
Enveloped in the shaded trees of the Estuary is this office retreat with room for side-by-side workstations. But, if you ask us, we’d rather be curled up on that built-in nook with a pile of books.
174 Needlerush Drive | WaterColor
A great space for kids or adults, this nook-like workspace is not short on storage space or practicality with plenty of drawers, shelves and even adjustable lighting.
5222 Finisterre Drive | Panama City Beach
It’s really all about the views in this one, isn’t it? But, there are so many great features of this space including handy built-ins, a fireplace and easy access to what we’ll call the “outdoor office.”
153 Pond Cypress Way | WaterColor
The last “office space” on our list is this brightly-decorated spot that has multiple uses: A quiet corner in which to hook up a laptop, a crafting station or a family catch-all that helps keep everyone on track.
