Business Beacon: Inside Brothers

Editor’s note: This month’s Business Beacon is a spotlight on Brothers, a refined men’s clothier in the heart of Seaside, Florida. Co-owner Hollis Veal talks to us about looking sharp without sacrificing comfort, their exclusive Martin Dingman lodge and serving with both quality and purpose.

Do you have an interesting topic you think we should cover? Leave a comment below!

1. How did you get the idea or concept for your business?

HV: Simply put, we recognized a clear need for a dedicated men’s clothing store in the 30A area. Our goal was to fill that gap — offering stylish, high-quality options for both locals and those visiting on vacation.

2. Let’s discuss numbers: What year did you open? How many locations do you have? How many people do you employ?

HV: We opened up in May of 2025. This is our first location, and we employ 12 staff members currently!

3. What do you sell or what service do you provide? What’s your bestseller?

HV: We offer a thoughtfully curated collection of premium men’s clothing, crafted with an emphasis on quality, style, and versatility. Over the course of a year, we traveled extensively, visiting markets and meeting with top vendors to ensure we bring only the best in men’s fashion. Our standout bestsellers include Brax Ultra Light pants, Martin Dingman shoes, and Johnny O performance polos — favorites among our customers for their comfort, craftsmanship, and timeless appeal.

4. What’s unique about what you do or offer?

HV: What sets us apart is the exclusivity of our offerings; no other store in the 30A area carries the premium brands we do. In fact, we’re proud to be the only retailer in the region with a dedicated Martin Dingman lodge. To further enhance your experience, we offer in-house tailoring to ensure every piece you purchase fits you perfectly.

5. How would you describe your business to a potential customer?

HV: At our core, we strive to make every customer feel genuinely welcomed and at ease the moment they walk through our doors. Our mission is to ensure that every man finds something that not only fits perfectly but also complements his lifestyle. We’re here to meet the need — with care, quality, and purpose.

6. What do you love most about your line of work?

HV: Retail is incredibly fun, especially in a place like Seaside. We get to connect with people from all over the country, hear their stories, and help them find clothes that make them feel confident and happy.

7. What sorts of trends are you seeing in your industry?

HV: These days, looking sharp no longer means sacrificing comfort. We’re seeing a rise in lightweight, breathable fabrics that feel great to wear while still delivering a stylish, put-together look.

8. Tell me in just a sentence or two what you feel sets you apart from your competitors.

HV: We pride ourselves on offering a wider selection than other men’s clothing stores in the area. With over 12 diverse brands in-store, there’s something for everyone — no matter your style or preference.

9. Who or what inspires you? This could be a family member or celebrity, a particular quote or even a book/movie/podcast. The sky’s the limit!

HV: I’m inspired by the relationships around me. I aspire to be the best version of myself to best serve those around me.

10. What’s the best thing about being a part of the Emerald Coast, personally and/or professionally?

HV: I love the pace. It’s just busy enough that something’s always happening, but slow enough that if you stop to breathe, you won’t feel like you’re missing something.

11. Are you/your business involved in the community in any way? Volunteering or giving back? If so, how?

HV: Honestly, we’ve only been here a few weeks, so we haven’t had the chance to get deeply involved in the community just yet, but we absolutely plan to. We already love it here and are really looking forward to finding meaningful ways to give back.

12. What does a typical day in your business look like? (Pretend it’s Monday (or Friday!) and take me through the highlights of your day.)

HV: Throughout the day, I handle a lot of the behind-the-scenes work that keeps everything running smoothly. This includes tasks like restocking sizes by going back and forth between the warehouse and the store, managing inventory, and running various errands. Every day brings something different, which keeps the job interesting and fun.

13. What’s your best “insider tip?” (This could be a community tip for vacationers or homeowners or even a tip for customers related to your business.)

HV: Get where you’re trying to go early. Traffic seems earlier every day.

14. How do you recharge or relax when the day is done?

HV: I love to go on a run to empty my thoughts and then read something in bed before hitting the hay early.

15. Just the deets, please! Where are you located? Business hours? Social media profiles and/or website links we need to know about? (Please feel free to add social media handles or direct links!)

HV: We are located in the heart of Seaside: 63 Central Square. We are open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday. We are available on Instagram @brothersseasidefl.

16. One final question: If there was just one thing you wish the public knew about your business, what would it be?

HV: Our heart behind it. We love this community and want to serve in every aspect possible. From the service in-store to acts of service outside of it, we truly believe that to be our purpose.
