Corey Ledbetter, a longtime resident of Florida’s Emerald Coast and agent here at Scenic Sotheby’s International Realty, was recently chosen as a member of the Local Planning Agency (LPA) for the City of Destin. This agency reports directly to the Destin City Council and creates plans for development and zoning issues and submits them to the City Council for review.
Since 1989 Ledbetter has seen the development of Destin and its surrounding beach towns. His longevity in the area combined with an in-depth knowledge of real estate and buyer trends will suit this position perfectly. A seasoned resident of the Emerald Coast, Ledbetter will be able to offer years of knowledge and experience to this position.
“I have had experience in a market where we saw over development in the area, in a market where we saw little to no development and now in a recovering market I am watching development begin again. In other words, I have seen it all. I think my experience in all of three of these drastically different market types will help me to oversee the the City of Destin grow in a healthy manner,” said Ledbetter.
The Destin LPA deals largely with the Comprehensive Plan for the city and is responsible for its preparation and implementation through direct communication with the City Council in order to put the plan into action.
