It’s time to test your paddle boarding skills once again at the upcoming “Paddle at the Porch” race in Destin, FL. Held on Sunday, Sept. 15th, you’ll face a variety of courses you can paddle, ranging from a one mile recreational race to a six mile elite race. If you’re ready to face the emerald waters and see how you compare with other Destin paddle boarders, now is your chance. Here are the race details:

Registration
Before September 15, the fee is $48 for the 1 mile race and $60 for the 3 and 6 mile races. On September 15, the fee is $55 for the 1 mile race and $75 for the 3 and 6 mile races. Registration can be completed at the Destin Area Chamber of Commerce by September 13 (at 5 p.m.) or at the Back Porch by Saturday, September 14. Race day registration can be completed at the Back Porch from 8-9:30 a.m. The first 100 to register will receive a free t shirt. Lunch for all racers will be provided by The Back Porch Seafood & Oyster House. A mandatory race meeting will be held on September 15 at 9 :40 a.m., behind the Back Porch. This year’s Paddle at the Porch event also features a pre-party to kick off the event, so be sure to inquire about the party registration along with your race registration.
Awards
Awards for the Paddle at the Porch Event include $300 to the top racers in all five elite races, followed by awards to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place overall winners. Awards will also be presented to the first place 50 + and 18 and under racers. In all, there will be $1,500 in cash prizes!

The Paddle at the Porch, also know as the Destin SUP, is an annual race that takes place against the beautiful backdrop of Destin, Florida. This race includes beginner, intermediate, and elite racing levels and includes people of all ages.
