The results are in for the 14th annual Destin Charity Wine Auction, and 2019 proved to be a record-breaking year.
Auction activities raised $2.6 million and a generous $1 million gift received two days later from local philanthropist Ryan. D. “Jume” Jumonville brought the total raised for northwest Florida childrens’ charities to $3.6 million.
The sold-out auction, attended by more than 600 wine enthusiasts, included many notable moments among its 54 live, 33 super silent and 142 silent lots. Magnum Force kicked off the auction with a bang. The lot, comprising 50 magnums from past and present vintners, sold for $55,000 – making it the highest grossing single-selling lot of the afternoon.
The highest grossing vintner lot was donated by honorary vintner Dr. Madaiah Revana of Revana Wines. Raising $35,000, this incredible lot offered two couples a seven-night, all-inclusive luxury retreat to Argentinian Wine Country, complete with wine from all three of his premium wineries (Revana Family Vineyard, Alexana Winery, and Corazon Del Sol).
Funds raised will be distributed to 16 local non-profit organizations for specific projects and programs that benefit children. Charity partners for 2019 include:
