Spring Break Curfews Take Effect Coastwide
New curfews aim to keep spring break 2026 safe, family-focused, and community-centered.
Seaside Sets the Tone for Spring Break
As spring break approaches along Scenic Highway 30A, Seaside, Florida, is taking proactive steps to preserve the family-focused atmosphere that defines the community.
From March 1 through April 19, 2026, Seaside will enforce a 7 p.m. curfew for unaccompanied minors under 18. During those hours, anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian in public areas, including Central Square and surrounding commercial districts. The policy is designed to ensure that spring break remains centered on shared family experiences rather than unsupervised evening activity.
Town leaders emphasize that the curfew is not simply about restriction, but about reinforcing what Seaside has always been known for: a welcoming, family-friendly environment where generations gather to create lasting memories.
A Calendar Built for Families
To support that vision, Seaside will offer a full lineup of family-oriented programming throughout the season. Weekly children’s theater performances in partnership with Emerald Coast Theatre Company return, along with kids’ concerts featuring Huck & Lilly on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Midweek evenings feature DJ30A’s DJ residency at Central Square on Wednesdays, offering an upbeat yet community-minded atmosphere.
Beloved traditions continue with the Seaside Farmers Market each Saturday and Central Square Cinema on Friday and Sunday evenings, giving families the opportunity to enjoy movie nights under the stars. Together, these events provide structured, engaging alternatives that encourage families to spend their evenings together.
A Unified Approach Along 30A
Seaside’s announcement follows collaborative town hall meetings with neighboring communities, including Rosemary Beach, Alys Beach, WaterColor, and Old Seagrove. Representatives from the Seaside Town Council, the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, and local short-term rental companies participated in discussions aimed at maintaining safety and consistency across the corridor.
WaterColor has announced a similar 7 p.m. curfew for unaccompanied minors during the same March through mid-April timeframe, signaling a coordinated effort among South Walton beach communities.

Regional Context Beyond South Walton
Elsewhere along the Gulf Coast, communities have adopted comparable measures during high-traffic Spring break periods. In Bay County, including Panama City Beach, officials have implemented temporary curfews and alcohol-related restrictions in recent years to support public safety and manage large seasonal crowds.
Across the Emerald Coast, the message remains consistent: Spring break is meant to be enjoyable, safe, and centered on family connection. By pairing clear expectations with thoughtfully programmed events, Seaside and its neighboring communities are working to ensure the 2026 season reflects the values that have long made this stretch of coastline a cherished tradition.
