Various companies offer services to distinct regions throughout the Destin and South Walton County markets. Residents may find the following guide useful in helping to set up accounts with the most important utilities and service providers.
Electricity
Two companies provide power to residents in Destin and South Walton County: CHELCO and Gulf Power. CHELCO is a not-for-profit electric distribution co-op that services over 53,000 accounts in Northwest Florida. Gulf Power is Northwest Florida’s largest electric utility with over 460,000 customers.

Water & Sewer
Destin Water Users provides complete water service to residents of incorporated Destin as well as well the Kelly Plantation development. Water and sewer for the Miramar Beach area and some sections of unincorporated Destin is provided by South Walton Utility Company, Inc.
Region Utilities—Walton County provides wastewater service to the coastal region between Sandestin and Rosemary Beach, and provides water to homes and businesses in the area from just east of Sandestin through Rosemary Beach, and from the Gulf of Mexico north to Choctawhatchee Bay. Residents of western Bay County are serviced by Panama City Beach Water & Wastewater Department.

Gas
Okaloosa Gas is the provider for both Okaloosa and Walton Counties. Western Bay County residents in the Lake Powell area are serviced by TECO Peoples Gas.
