Our Local School Districts
Three K-12 school systems serve the residents of Destin and the South Walton County/Panama City Beach region: Okaloosa County School District, Walton County Schools District and Bay County School District.
Okaloosa County Schools
Okaloosa County, which includes the coastal neighborhoods and communities along the gulf extending north across Choctawhatchee Bay through Niceville, is home to one of the top overall performing school districts in the state according to the Florida Department of Education (www.fldoe.org). Walton County Schools
The Walton County School District covers Santa Rosa Beach, the communities along Highway 30A and the communities to the north surrounding Highway 98. Two elementary schools, one middle school and South Walton High School are conveniently located near coastal area students in addition to The Seaside Neighborhood School, a charter school ranked among the top 10 middle schools in Florida.
